Repair damaged hair
To add shine to dull, stressed hair: Start with a haircut. “The more split ends you get rid of, the better your hair will look,” says D.J.
• Resist the urge to have your hair colored, which can cause more damage. Instead, consider an in-salon gloss treatment, which adds clear shine that lasts for about a month.
• Once a week, give yourself an at-home hot-oil treatment. To do: Wet your hair, apply 1/4 cup of moisturizing hair oil, then wrap a warm, damp towel around your head. Relax for 20 minutes, then shampoo hair.
• Allow your hair to air-dry, and stay away from styling appliances like flat irons.
